General Questions
Optim facilitates yield generation and scaling on Cardano. Our DeFi protocols offer users a trustless way to deploy their assets on-chain. Our L2 scaling solution enables builders to deploy faster, more advanced DeFi protocols than possible on Cardano L1 while still leveraging its liquidity and security. We lower the barrier to entry by abstracting away complexity and making it easy for users to participate in new markets. Our range of products provide the smart contract infrastructure to empower people in a permissionless way.
Cardano development is an ongoing process that depends on several factors such as the underlying blockchain technology and financial infrastructure on-chain. As new capabilities are available on-chain, Optim will be delivering products accordingly over the next couple of years. Our first product, Liquidity Bonds has been live for over a year. OADA, our second product, will be live in Q2 of 2024. Our scaling solution, Leviathan, will be live in Q3/Q4 of 2024.
- Yes, our Liquidity Bonds were audited by Tweag and MLabs before release. Audit reports
- All products will be audited with a public repository of audit reports made available.
Yes, to a degree. Please visit our Github to read our code. Not every piece of the system is open source, but key components of the system that are useful for builders are open source.
Optim does have a token. The ticket is $OPTIM, asset1fdcq0j9quw9arn6zf8rzzzuqhcpl08vdwy63ym
Optim's Products
OADA is a synthetic version of ADA, always backed 1:1 by ADA. When staked for sOADA it accrues passive, superior yield above the ADA staking rate. OADA itself can be used for trading, providing liquidity on DEXs, and as the gas token for Leviathan L2. The system offers enhanced yield and governance capabilities relative to most DeFi protocols.
Leviathan L2 is a fast, modular execution layer for Cardano. It enables speed and scaling for applications that need performance beyond what the Cardano L1 can provide. It inherits many of the security properties of Cardano such as deterministic transactions, while allowing new innovative products and protocols to be deployed with Cardano as the settlement layer.
Strategy Vaults are automated yield strategies that enable users to deposit assets into trustless, on-chain contracts which execute functions according to preset parameters. Strategy Vaults can do things such as harvest rewards, reinvest, and automatically compound. Other vaults might move particular assets to optimal opportunities in the ecosystem as they arise.
It’s possible, but as of now, no concrete plans have been made. The Optim team is always researching and tinkering with new and experimental ideas, but if we decide to develop any other products that information will be shared through our community channels.

Liquidity Bonds
Liquidity Bonds are an innovative financial primitive that enables users to rent ADA delegation rights to power novel use cases such as SPO loans, leverage into ISOs and Initial Bond Offerings for fundraising.
All bonds use the same smart contract primitive as the underlying infrastructure, with the different ‘types’ of bonds indicating the different use cases and participating parties. The use case and participants are a good indicator of the likely duration and type of interest one can expect to see.
- SPO Bonds allow Stake Pools to rent delegation to bootstrap liquidity into their pool.
- ISPO Bonds will allow users to leverage their positions into an ISPO.
An SPO Bond is an on-chain loan contract for non-custodial lending of staking rights to Stake Pool Operators from a pool of lenders. Parameters such as interest rate, interest buffer, and duration are predetermined and fixed for the life of the loan.
